🟠One of the first thoughts that crossed my mind after seeing this short film was how one-of-a-kind the essence of its narrative is. In the world we live in, stories, especially those centered on 🟠 Submit on Filmfreeway.com/KinoCritic 🟠 The American short film Tears of Knowing, directed by @milesmarti1 , reminds us of the first time, probably at a very young age, when we came to realize that the world is not as bright as an innocent child’s worldview perceives it to be. The narrative follows a little girl named Ava, who encounters death for the first time. 🟠KinoCritic is a newly established independent online media outlet dedicated to film reviews, curating and promoting great films from the festival circuit, independent creators, and debut filmmakers. KinoCritic is a recognized member of CriticBridge's highest tier of film critics. 🟠Good cinema has the task of reflecting the spirit of the times, and in this respect The Ghosts by @federicopapagna reflects a ripened, current problem within youth communities in Europe and around the world — one often attributed to social media, subcultures, and similar excuses, but perhaps rooted somewhere in the political and cultural problems of our societies. The film tells its audience about the cruelty of a group of thugs who go to extremes to avenge an entirely mundane injustice. The criminal circle of friends around the adolescent Filippo draws him into a situation that turns him into a kind of Trojan horse against a victim targeted by the thugs. Viewers experience the story precisely through Filippo and his awakened conscience, which doesn’t let us fail to sense his guilt, his fear, and the tragedy that, under slightly different circumstances, could have been avoided. 🟠The allegorical cinematic work that Veselka Kuncheva creates embodies a distinctive reading of the secret behind Mona Lisa’s smile, mythologizing her image in her own way and offering us precisely such a non-factual, animated perspective on the enigmatic smile. The most curious thing is that her image remains exactly as we know it — veiled and invisible beyond the single moment of her existence captured in time.
